Intergenerational Welfare Reform Commission
In 2012, the Utah Legislature adopted the Intergenerational Poverty Mitigation Act, which created the Intergenerational Welfare Reform Commission (Senate Bill 53) to help Utah families experiencing intergenerational poverty.
Commission Goal
To reduce the number of Utah families in the cycle of poverty, improving their quality of life and helping them become economically stable.
Commission Overview
The Commission Chair is Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox and the group includes members from the Department of Workforce Services, Department of Human Services, Department of Health, the Utah State Board of Education, and the Juvenille Courts.
