Do I Qualify?

REMEMBER:  To apply for weatherization assistance, individuals must submit their application to the agency that services the county in which they live.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Weatherization helps low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs and increase comfort and safety in their homes.  People whose income does not exceed the gross annual income listed below are eligible for Weatherization.

To qualify, you must meet DOE's definition of income.  Your gross annual income must be at or below the guidelines listed to the left.

  • Proof of income eligibility must be included with all applications.
  • If your home has been weatherized after 9/30/1994, you may not be eligible for Weatherization Services.
  • 2012 Poverty Guidelines eff. January 26, 2012.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Complete the application packet from the link below, provide the necessary documentation requested, and mail, fax or walk-in packet to the agency that serves the area you live in.

Your application will then be prioritized, based on the information provided, and put on a waiting list.

I AM A RENTER; DO I STILL QUALIFY FOR WEATHERIZATION?

Yes, but your landlord must complete the Landlord's Weatherization Rental Agreement found in the link below. This agreement must be notarized before submitting.

IS THERE A COST TO ME TO WEATHERIZE MY HOME?

If you are a homeowner, there is no cost to you. If you rent, your landlord may need to pay an elected portion of the cost.
